How To Make Mexican Buns (Similar to Paparoti and Roti Boy)

I first saw these buns in a shopping centre in Malaysia when I went home to visit. Inside the centre, just outside of a shop there was a long queue of people waiting their turns to get their hands on these seemingly humble looking buns so I joined the queue as I wanted to see what the fuss was about. Most customers came out of the shop with at least 4 of these buns but I only bought one…yep just one because I just wanted to satisfy my curiosity. Anyway on my way back in a taxi, I took a bite of the bun and immediately my curiosity turned into regret. WHY DID I NOT BUY MORE!!!??
Ever since I got back to Australia, I’ve been trying to re-create the buns from my humble kitchen. After a few trials and errors, I’m finally satisfied with my latest effort! They are perfectly rounded, golden brown, soft inside and crisp on the outside and the best of all is seeing the pure, glistening warm melted butter oozing out of the bun when it’s being pulled apart! Yummo!

I might also add, this is the happiest video I’ve ever made because the music makes me get up and do the salsa or samba thingy every time! Lol!
